Materials Requirement Planning provides management with the tools to efficiently create a master schedule, and regenerate a material plan that supports it.
Product Capabilities
- Supports the master production schedule
- Generates time-phased requirements for all levels
- Computes when, and in what quantities parts will be required
- Predicts component part shortages
- Allows order modifications
- Modifies recommended orders to conform to standard order multiples
- Uses a fast, bucketless regeneration algorithm
- Shows which customer orders or shop orders create a demand on material requirements with multi-level pegging
Application Details
- Orders may be entered directly to establish a master schedule of independent demand for spare parts and finished goods.
- Forecast, customer, shop, purchase, and firm-planned orders can be maintained to produce the master schedule.
- Materials Requirement Planning calculates a material plan that summarizes timing and quantities of raw materials, components, and sub-assemblies required to support the master schedule.
- During Materials Requirement Planning, new orders and shop orders are recommended to cover net requirements not already covered by existing purchase, shop, and firm-planned orders.
- All figures are tracked on a daily basis without imposing any fixed time "buckets" for planning periods. Three different calendars can be created and maintained.
Reports
- The Material Requirements Report determines the planning time horizon for purchased items or manufactured items.
- All orders which were tagged with exceptions during the regeneration process are listed in the Exceptions Report. Exceptions include excess order quantities and orders recommended for delay.
- The Pegging Report, which is printed in outline format, lists the path from orders to the actual customer or shop order.
- Additional reports are available, as well as the capability to create and customize individual reports.
Security
- My ERP's Materials Requirement Planning is fully integrated with the standard My ERP security application. User passwords will provide controlled access to the Materials Requirement Planning module.
System Integration
- Materials Requirement Planning requires My ERP's Inventory Management and Bill of Materials modules. It can also be installed to offer on-line integration with Customer Order Processing, Purchase Order and Receiving, Shop Floor Control, and Master Scheduling modules.
